We’re seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Specialist to extend our global reach and explore new and business opportunities and relationships. An ideal candidate will be trusted to dive right in, take the lead, use initiative, and help build billion-dollar business that help make everyday activities easier for people around the world. Highly skilled at technical solution sales, this person will collaborate across marketing, engineering, and external partner resources while pursuing opportunities.

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for helping evaluate customers software needs, recommending solutions that meet their requirements, removing potential roadblocks, and driving the sales process forwards. You’ll be at the center of a new product organization and at the forefront of transforming the automotive industry with cutting-edge technology. You will be responsible for the driving adoption of our middleware and DevOps and implementing technical sales best practices. A qualified technical sales specialist will not only engage with relevant customer stakeholders for sales opportunities but also align customer requirements with product roadmap to ensure product development reflects customer needs.

Your Role:

  • Serve as the deep technical expert in sales opportunities and serve as advisors to Aptiv sales teams and other stakeholders

  • Work cross-functionally to understand each customer’s end-to-end landscape and needs

  • Identify and assess customer opportunities to leverage Aptiv middleware and DevOps and address core market use cases and opportunities

  • Drive business development by demonstrating value proposition with solution demos, whiteboarding, etc.

  • Establish relationships with key customer decision makers and influencers within an opportunity-driven model

  • Contribute customer feedback to Product Management to ensure product roadmap reflects market and customer needs

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales 

  • Experience with B2B software sales as a technical sales specialist

  • Experience in performing technical presentations or public speaking

  • Excellent communication / presentation skills

  • High degree of commitment, proactiveness, and flexibility

Additional Background Preferences:

  • Experience as a technical architect, technical sales engineer, or solutions architect

  • Domain expertise in automotive

  • Experience with legacy and modern software development

  • Experience in large-scale software deployment via API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS and container orchestration systems

  • Experience building industry leading software and developing solutions utilizing industry best practices
